I'm new to the Lexus brand. I found a 2015 GS 350 F Sport 75K miles but the dash is sticky and looks like it's melting. Is this typical for the year and the Lexus brand ? Can it be repaired ? How ? Thanks for any help.
@Flg8r90 - I don't recall anyone with a GS 350 having this problem.
However, I am aware that the pebble texture rubbery surface ('injection molded padded viny') near the navigation screen can become rather soft in hot temperatures with high humidity and when exposed to direct radiation from the sun. With these conditions the injection molded surface can become easily scarred or scratched.
It should be noted that if a previous owner (or dealer or car lot) tried to apply the wrong type product to the injection molded vinyl area of the dash, it could start the material breakdown you are seeing. For example, a product containing acetone or something similar will literally melt plastic and will likely do the same on the injection molded vinyl material near the navigation screen of the Lexus GS 350.
Other Lexus models have experienced a sticky dash issue and it has been addressed in a Technical Service Bulletin (L-SB-0016-19) - as noted in the attachment for you in this post. As you'll see the GS 350 is not a Lexus model addressed in the TSB.
There are a number of recommended products that people have used on the dash of models wit this issue, and there are a number of videos explaining the process of using those various products on the dash.
The image below is the Lexus Customer Support Program letter mailed to owners of record with specific Lexus models this dash issue applies to:

Check the in-service date of the car. The 2015 is probably still good to qualify for the customer service program to replace the dash. You have 10 years from the in service date, basically the day it was first sold (not manufactured). If it is visibly melting, you will absolutely qualify after a quick inspection at a Lexus dealer. I was able to get mine replaced and it was just barely sticky. You need to have it inspected by dealer, they submit to to Lexus corporate for approval. As long as your approved prior to the 10 year mark, you are good to go for coverage. Part took 2-3 weeks to arrive at my dealer after approval, and another week or so to get scheduled and completed. They had the car for two days.
I would buy it comfortably knowing that the dash will be covered.

I do recall getting the TSB letter for my 2015 when I had it.

Ah, good! Thank you!
I was unaware there was a revised TSB that included the GS model.

The dash on my 2018 GS 450h is noticeably different from the dash on my GS 350. The GS 450h must have a different type of material because its not even on the list, which is a good thing...
