Question Needing advice from expert Lexus owners

Hi! I'm new here and new to Lexus ownership (soon to be)
I'm looking at a 2006 Lexus RX 400h with 130,000 miles on Craigslist. I live in Northern California and the owner is asking $10,100. Does this seem high? According to Car Fax, no accidents & clean title. I will be the third owner. The first owner purchased the car in Marin County as a new vehicle in 2006 and was the owner until 10/2023, lot so service records from Car Fax. The first owner drove an average of 7,000 miles per year. The second owner purchased the car as a trade in from the dealer in 10/2023, so they've had it less than a year. Should I be concerned? I did ask why they are selling, they said they are going back to a larger vehicle. My mechanic, who specializes in hybrids is looking at the car tomorrow. I will be meeting the owner in person, any questions I should ask them?

Thanks so much for advice!

Had a quick look on Edmunds that is about the going price for one around 100,000-130,000 miles. Many of them were 2x that. I wouldn't bother with the reason they are selling it doesn't matter, people lie. Or maybe they are not lying either way you have no way of knowing. Two owners over 18 years is way below average.

If your mechanic gives it a clean bill of health then offer them what you can afford. If you don't get it there are many more out there this is not a rare vehicle by any stretch.

Thanks! I appreciate you looking up the info on Edmunds. I checked KBB, but the $10,000 asking price was high for a private party sale, unless I was looking at the info wrong. I just don't want to get cheated out right. I realize things can and will fail over time, I just didn't want to be taken advantage of right from the start. Hoping for the best. Thanks again! This already this seems like such a great community.

Unless the listing says FIRM then they are asking over what they expect to actually get. I did look at mostly dealership listings so yes they will be higher. Try this calculator, I got $9,000 private sale for a clean example.

There are a bunch of other used vehicle calculators out there.
