SRS light on.

SRS light on.
2004 SC430 with 65k
We bought this last August with 58K, the SRS light would come on randomly with no real rhyme or reason but here lately it is permanently on and I'm looking to fix that.
Hooked up the Techstream and I get code B0106 Open in P Squib circuit
Now some have said to unhook battery, wait a couple minutes and unplug/plug yellow connectors under center console and that should fix it. Has anyone really done this or is it just hearsay, I looked in my service manual and it shows a ton of steps in order to do this.
What do you know (not think) about all this? really don't want to take it into a dealer but I want this light off, and things to work properly.
Thanks.
My self-leveling light is also randomly on and want to take care of that also, but the SRS is my main concern right now.

If it it randomly came on and off, I think it is probably your clock spring
It could be a loose connection under your seats.
Do you know if the airbag recall has been done on your car?
I would google "ClubLexus.com sc430 clock spring" and see what other people have said

"Open in P squib circuit". There is an open circuit in the passenger airbag circuit, one of the connectors is not properly connected.
Quite possible the result of a poorly completed airbag recall, many technicians slipped the airbag inflator cylinder out/in with the airbag assembly mounted in the car (improper).
Remove the glove box and inspect the yellow connectors: one main rectangular connector and one on each side of the airbag. If one of the connectors on the sides of the airbag has come loose, you may want to return to the dealer. Take pictures as evidence.

I'll have a look under my seats and see if I see anything.

It sounds like you know a little more than the average driver about toyotas. Do you work at a dealer?

You could try to reconnect the wire if it came loose, and you can reach them. The pins must be aligned when engaging the connector, the connector socket is round, there is no type of guide to align the connector. The side connectors lock in place, there is no way to release the connector after installation.
I am a former technician, I performed many airbag recalls. The airbag inflaters that were replaced in 2013 to 2017 were recalled again, I found several workmanship problems with the first replacement of the airbag inflaters.
In the picture below, one of the side connectors fell off during disassembly. The technician failed to fully engage the connector. Also, the alignment bracket is missing. The airbag inflator has a series of vent holes for the gas to vent when deployed to fill the "bag". The inflator must be properly aligned with the assembly.

I also am experiencing the same airbag error (b0106) on my 2002 sc430. It started off as an intermittent srs light but has now become permanent. I have not gotten a chance to troubleshoot the issue yet. Waiting for the weather to get cooler. Please let us know what you did the resolve the issue. I had the airbag recall performed 4 years ago and hope the issue is not with the replacement airbag itself.

Hello, piling on with my 03. Had the seats recovered, airbag light now on, don't think it was on prior (I had given this car to my niece, hadn't seen it myself for 5 years, doing some refurbishment and such for her)... We've pulled both seats a couple times and checked the plug connections / cleaned them / looked for damage. One did have a pretty sharp bend but didn't look like a break. Haven't pulled the under the seat harness or the airbag & plug out to run continuity tests on the actual pins. Seeing the clockspring issue people have had also, but seems likely it happened during the seat effort somehow, although I'll be checking the mode controls and such to see if they are showing any issues.
I guess the techstream can't pin down which side (repair shop said it showed on both sides), since they share a circuit and fuse (which we checked and replaced).
My next thoughts are one or more of the following, suggestions welcome about sequence / priority
a) purchase 1 at a time (left seat harness, right seat harness, left airbag, right airbag) and replace them one at a time to maybe fix a broken or dirty connector or wire (about ~$60 - $70 for each, ~$300 total), hope that I hit a bad one early
b) take the car back to the repair shop, have them pull the harness and airbags out, so I can bring them home and test them with wiring diagram / etc); not sure if I could temporarily drive the car with them removed, anybody know?
c) randomly replace the 'srs / airbag brain / module' (I think I saw a long thread from somebody who tried b) above and was way smarter than I was- he didn't seem to identify a wiring issue after a TON of diag work, and then randomly replaced this module and his issue was resolved...
This is the only thing that kept me from returning to my niece for her summer break, so that's a bummer!
Thanks for any feedback.

Just an update for the b0106 airbag code. I finally got a chance to troubleshoot the code today. I ended up removing the glove box to get access to the airbag wires. I couldn't see the connections at the ends of the airbag but was able to stick my hand in to feel it. I just pressed the connector in to make sure that it was secure on the right side of the airbag. When I started the engine the airbag code went away. Looks like it was a loose connection after all just like the picture posted by Nevada. Hopefully this helps someone.
