Question 2008 Lexus ISF aftermarket ball joints.

So I've been doing a complete overhaul on the suspension on my 08' ISF. Something I've been curious about is the mention of aftermarket ball joints being extremely dangerous to install on both the Lexus and Toyota platform. I'm getting a set of OEM ones installed tomorrow, but was honestly just curious from a technical standpoint on why and how it can affect the vehicle.
