What to do "while I'm in there" during a sparkplug replacement
Hi all,
First post a new owner of a 2015 that I purchased after the early demise of my MDX. There is so much great information here about maintaining this automobile. Thanks to all of the fantastic contributors on this forum. I've learned a ton.
I am coming up on 120,000 miles and looking at the full spark plug replacement. A quick call to the delaer confirmed I will likely be doing the repair myself (quote was $1,000).
So my question is, as long as I have everything apart, is there anything else I should look at replacing while I am "in there"? PCV valve seems like a no brainer. Anything else recommended as a standard wear item? Coils?
Thanks!

I'd add a coil boot kit. Is the v/c look like its seep? Possibly the 3 coils, even thou I didn't change mine. I'd also clean the t/b.

Replace the 3 coils on the rear bank as they are so difficult to access. Get Denso coils as that is the OEM brand. Be careful with the wires as they are fragile and some have broken them in this procedure.
You can wait on the front bank coils if you want to save money now as they are easy to replace.
FYI many have waited until over 150,000 to replace the spark plugs and found they were still in excellent condition and good for more miles.

I finally got to mine around 140-150k. They were still looking fine. The coil pack clips are crazy brittle, so take your time when finally disconnecting/connecting them. There was no short cut on this job. If i remember correctly, I went the washer assembly removal route.
