Default Clicking noise behind dash

Hi all, recently picked up a 2003 SC430 and loving it. However, there was one thing that bothered me. I noticed that there was a quiet ticking noise (kind of like a clock or bomb) behind/underneath the driver side dash. This ticking persists when the car is completely off and even with the power disconnected. Keep in mind that the previous owner installed an aftermarket alarm system. I originally thought it was a faulty shock sensor, but ticking persisted after disconnecting it. Any ideas?

What do you mean by "power disconnected "? Did you remove battery terminals or just turn off the key? Remember there are circuits that still have +12V with the key off.
