Default End Cap Tool Stuck on Lexus RX 350 Oil Filter: Can I Leave It?

Okay so while doing my oil change for my 2007 Lexus RX 350, the end cap oil filter socket tool I got, stuck to the canister. I still replaced the filter, changed the oil, and put it back, but the end cap oil filter socket tool is still on there. Is this okay to do? Is this okay to have? Here are photos:

Don't drive like that if it falls off it might bounce around and do some serious damage to other cars, or yours.

It's pretty stuck on there though, I doubt it could fall off. Plus there's a protective cover where the oil filter is.

That happens to me most of the times I change the oil. I just put the housing back on and crank it down until the filter tool breaks free. Then I loosen the filter housing and re-tighten it properly.

I always replace the oil and filter myself. I bought the filter removal tool from Toyota. Everytime I use it, it stays on the bottom of the filter housing. No big deal. I take a small ball pein hammer and tap the removal tool a couple of times. It always falls off after a few taps. Sometimes it helps to tap it in a counter clockwise direction to take the strain off the fitting. Good luck.

I took another look at it today and it's still not budging. Thank you everyone for the suggestions. At this point, I'm almost looking at it like a feature. Like now it's easy to take out the oil filter in the future you know? So I think I'll try again next oil change OR get a new canister next oil change as well.
