Cadillac vs. Lincoln Concepts.
I was looking at this contemporary Cadillac DeVille concept luxury sedan from the GMAuthority site, and my first reaction was that it seems to be a take-off from the classic Lincoln Continental concept from the early 2000s (I think we had a car Chat thread on that here). Except for headlights/grille and the Lincoln's front-opening rear-doors, I see a remarkable similarity between the two of them, especially in the rooflines and squared-off side-fenders, which brings back the classic Lincoln Continentals of the 1960s and 70s. Lincoln DID put a recent Continental sedan into production not long ago, but it looked nothing like that, was based on the FWD/AWD Taurus platform like the one in the late 90s, sold poorly, and was dropped after just a few years.

Cadillac has some of the most beautiful concepts I've seen that never make it to fruition.
Cadillac showed off the Cadillac Cien a RWD Mid-Engine 2-seater sports car at the 2002 Detroit Auto Show. At it's heart, It had a Northstar 7.5L V12. The high expected selling price and question of the existence of a customer base for the Cien cancelled production plans. Now that the C8 Corvette exists, I'd say Cadillac should give it another go!
Cadillac Ciel at Pebble Beach in 2011 used a powertrain setup we commonly see today a turbocharged 6-cylinder with hybrid assist. It's coolest feature was the rear suicide doors making it a 4-door convertible
The Cadillac Elmiraj came out two years after the Ciel, but was a hardtop 4-seater coupe aimed at the Mercedes S-Class coupes of the time. The highlight was it's pillarless hardtop profile, and it featured a 4.5L twin-turbo V8. Makes me wonder what happened to that powertrain, perhaps it's a relative of the Blackwing family?
The Cadillac Escala was something the Cadillac XTS never was, a proper RWD Flagship sedan with the presence in size and wheelbase to match. The Escala concept had a version of the 4.2L twin-turbo V8 that eventually made it's way to the Cadillac CT6 which was a much watered down version of the Escala.
The Cadillac Sixteen wasn't exactly the most beautiful vehicle I've seen but it had a long hood that harkened to automobiles that came decades before it. The car is a nod to the Cadillac V-16 of the 1930's. At it's heart was a 13.6L V16. If Bugatti can find a way to sell a V16 in 2024, then come'on Cadillac
As for Lincoln. I really liked the Lincoln MKR concept. A RWD based mid-size sedan with a 400hp TwinForce/EcoBoost V6. It also had rear suicide doors. Instead we got the FWD based MKS.
