idk what your owner's manual calls for motor oil, but if it's 0-20, you will be fine. take a look a the label on the bottle and make
sure it's the same letters as in the manual for oil designation (ie. sn, sm, etc..)

Go over to, https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/.
There you can read VOA's and UOA's of the oil and research to gain an understanding of what your engine needs from an oil. (Used Oil Analysis, Virgin Oil Analysis)
I personally would NOT use a 0-20 unless it is really high in its viscosity index, a 5-20 is technically even worse at startup in some scenarios as this is just a heavier winter weight (cold or startup viscosity).
Having said that neither will be problematic for the 2GR, but I would want to go beyond that. If you insist on using this oil, I would do 5,000 mile Oil Change Interval unless you're doing a UOA on it.
When I am forced to use a 20wt oil, I always go boutique like an AMSOIL product to feel safe running it out to 7k mi.
However, my preference for this engine is a 0-30. My factory service manual for this engine actually specs a 0-30 or 5-30. I currently run AMSOIL XL but will settle into AMSOIL UERO in a 0-30.
Remember that this 20wt non-sense is ONLY about CAFE standards.... It benefits THEM not YOU.

There is a video that compares 2GR-FE engine parts in 2007-2012 vs 2013, all parts identical, yet 5w-30 was changed to 0w-20 in the manual.
So all this nonsense about tighter clearances that require thin oil are total BS.
