Default Check Engine Light Code 52 help

I'm getting a check engine light for code 52 knock sensor signal. I've replaced both the wiring harness and the sensor itself and the code still persists.

It doesn't turn on right when I start the car, only after a few minutes or sometimes seconds of driving. It then disappears if the car is shut off and reappears in the same manner.

I did these replacements on the knock sensor close to the front of the car on the driver side under the intake manifold. Is this the only/correct knock sensor?

Also, at one point I had the engine out and the block was painted, does the sensor need the ability to use the block as a ground?

Any other tips or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There is two knock sensors on the 300/400. If you have an EWD it's K1 and K2 on the diagram, and they are both single pin case ground so they need to have a good path to the engine block to work properly. I can provide pictures of the diagram if you need. Best of luck.
