2008 RX400h Rear Axle Gearbox Bearings Replacement
Hello Friends,
I need some advice please.
My 2008 RX400h has been making some noises (consistent with wheel/drive train rotations), between 75 - 85 km/hr (46 - 53 mph). Below 75 kmph and above 85 kmph, those sounds are not present. Have checked the rear tires- they are fine - and replaced both rear wheel bearings, but the noises remain.
My mechanic believes that one of the axle bearings - he thinks it's the one inside the rear gearbox (driven by the electric motor) supporting the Right rear axle - that has deteriorated. Question: Is it possible to replace both the rear axle bearings (inside the rear gearbox), without having to replace the entire rear gearbox? If yes, does anyone have the instructions manual for it, please?
