A complete set of manuals including the navigation manual. Carpeted Floor mats front and back. Tonneau cover for the rear truck area. Tool kit and first aid kit was standard. If it has wheel locks be sure the lug key is included. If you are lucky they will include a carpeted cargo mat, but it was extra when new.

... two standard multi-function keys, one valet key, plus one credit card emergency key. If this is coming from a Lexus dealership ask them for an updated DVD for the NAV system.

Don't forget to register at Lexus.com and there you will be able to review the vehicle's service record, at least for the service done at a Lexus dealership.

Look at the mileage and ask what service has been done and what service is soon to be required. More costly service is at 60,000 and 90,000 miles. If the odometer is near these numbers ask if the dealership will preform them prior to picking the car up.

Also ask the dealer what recalls and TSIB's have been performed. Examine the headlights carefully for any hint of moisture inside the lens. If present ask the dealer to replace the lens assembly as these are quite costly. I'd probably take the vehicle through a touchless high pressure wash and then inspect the lenses to be sure they are sealed.

Back to the keys, A Lexus key is damn expensive. Be sure you get them all.

Finally I'd ask the dealer to do a complete inspection and give you the report. They should measure brake pads, rotors, look for coolant leaks and strut condition, check the battery, AC systems, etc.

Inspect the paint and interior for any major blemishes and if present ask the dealer to remedy them.

You have the most leverage with the dealer now prior to picking the vehicle up.

There were two that I am aware of:

1. 9LH oil hose replacement recall.
2. BLC - carpet cover/clip recall

Basically the headlights are cloudy or have water condensation inside them due to the seal leaking. If you have AFS it can even lead to problems with the HID lights and the motors that move the lights.

Check them closely after a rain or car wash, as was previously suggested. One headlight assembly from the dealer is around $1,500 and that does not include the labor to install it.

i got the car today

its in great condition....got the keys, manuals, etc

2 issues:
1) no aux input? aftermarket suggestions that are cheap and easy to DIY?

2) one of the foglight doesnt turn on, is it possible to replace DIY, can any mechanic do it, or lexus only

for #2, the dealer gave me a credit off the price paid

3) Im so busy with work, any advice on a crash course on how all the central panel buttons and everything works

There are options for AUX inputs...
as for the foglight, sounds like a bulb in just burnt out should be a really easy fix for you.

take a pic of the buttons you are having trouble understanding. It all should be fairly self explanatory .

holy smokes we just had to drive in a freaking white out

even with michelin all season it was fine

question: the snow mode, should I leave it on or take it off once my car has accelerated and is cruising after the traffic light

You can leave it on during the trip. Just keep in mind that what you are doing with the ECT SNOW mode is just telling your RX to start off in 2nd gear from a stop in an effort to limit wheel slip.
