LED Exterior/Interior light upgrade
Hi all,
Is there anyone who upgraded their interior lighting with LED? Which bulbs did you use?
I checked and majority of interior lights for 17 GX is 194 T10 model. I found two high review items on the Amazon. Does anyone used any one of those? Or maybe there are something better out there?
If you have your upgrade pictures to share, that would be great. Thanks.

Yeah, ohiois350 and I discussed this a while back. Since then I have only replaced 1 of my VLEDS. I see that they are still $12 to $14 each and you are looking at less than that for 10 LEDS on Amazon. I have no confidence in the Amazon LED. Try buying both and compare them.

Thank you both for your input.
I was very surprised to see prices for VLED so high. I wonder what constitute their high prices, new technology, being all aluminum perhaps. Even Phillips LED is around $12 for set of two with 12 years warranty. I guess that you are right and the only way to find out is to purchase both and test it.
My other question, does any of those LEDs trigger any sort of error code for the GX, because I read it somewhere that in certain cars (most of which are German), incorrect light would trigger car error code.

I recently upgraded all of my interior lights to LEDs. I also upgraded my HID bulb to a higher lumen and fog lights, turn signals, reverse lights, and parking lights to LEDs. The only halogen bulb left is the high beam. And since I do not drive with my DRL on, I will leave it alone unit it's time to replace it with...another halogen bulb. I hope that helps.
With fog lights on.
I left the door ajar just so that you can see what it looks like from the outside.
Bright enough to not need a flashlight when searching for things.
And it's not glaringly bright, either.
Even updated the vanity mirror lights, because...why not?
I only used 2 of the Yorkims on the rear right and left doors, the rest were VLEDs.
VLED.
Yorkim. There are some differences and fitment between the 2 brands.

11GX460, why don't you use DRL? It's a safety thing, I feel better knowing I am more visible in the shadows if someone is going to pull out in front of me. I used headlights and fogs on my MDX for this.

Tecman,
I just personally don't feel it's all that necessary. If it was truly a safety item, it would've been federally mandated in the US. It's nice to have, just like lane departure alerts. And if you need to know, I haven't even used cruise control nor parking sensors on my GX, the backup camera is enough. Too much unnecessary tech in a vehicle is just not my thing.

LED lights for 2016 GX460 running board
Hello Friends,
I am trying to replace the halogen lamps for the running boards on 2016 GX460, but having a hard time to get access to the bulb housing. I unscrewed the clear plastic lens but cannot get it off the mounting bracket. I can see the cable for the bulb power supply which is on the top part of the mounting bracket where the bulb housing is fitted. Even after removing the 2 Phillips screws from the lens, I cannot get the bulb housing out to replace the bulb.
Any ideas as to how to get access to the bulb?

Perhaps this link will help. I am pretty sure it applies to your 2016 as well. As you can tell, you were not supposed to unscrew the clear lens, but instead, twist off the cable wire from the top. That is how I replaced mine.

Since it appears that you are upgrading your lights to LEDs, here's a recent post regarding interior lights.

Yeah all you have to do is twist the connector and pull the bulb out from the top. Bought my wife a 2015 GX460 last year and the first thing I did was replaced the boring halogen running board lights with LED ones. Definitely looks better.

Interior and Running Board LED Upgrade
We've had our GX for around a month now and the stock filament interior and running board/courtesy bulbs were starting to get to me. So, I finally decided to get off my butt and replace them all with some Yorkim LED 194/168 bulbs from Amazon. Huge difference vs. stock.
Next order of business is to replace the reverse lights. Thanks to my fellow GX owners who posted some good info on bulbs and diy instructions.
