VIN Tag Body Panel Locations
#3
No, just trying confirm the locations. At least in '06, the tags are black with white lettering and so are harder to spot on a black vehicle. Have found them in the following places on mine: all 4 doors, both front fenders, and the hood. Surprisingly, none found on the rear quarters or the trunk lid and so am curious if those are hidden by trim. Likewise, there wasn't one visible on the trunk lid of my '03 GS 300.

Thank you, I remember it started in the 90's but I wasn't sure every yr Lexus has It.
My nephew lives out of state said he was going to buy an LS400 and I told him it will have it. Later I wasn't sure I was right in telling him that? Said he done a drive by and just drove on after seeing it anyway, its wrecked bad in front. Appreciate it!

@Romanova do you happen to remember where under the trunk panel the VIN tag is located? trying to avoid removing the whole panel if unnecessary
Edit: it's in between the electric latch assembly and the pull handle, a couple inches deeper. You need to remove the clips on the right side of the trunk panel to access it (one clip is hidden behind a separate corner panel), but you *don't* need to remove the molding around the manual trunk release to see it.
