Interesting - would you cite the source from where that chart came from?
The information I have is from a 2011 Toyota bulletin, granted things may have changed since then. What's curious is where 0w-20 is permissible and not permissible for the 2GR-FE across the models (Lexus is also a 2GR-FE, though what variant is the question). For example, it's permissible in the 2012 Camry and Venza but not the Avalon.

I don't have the original source. There was a thread a few years back where it was posted and I made a copy. It looks similar to the Toyota one that is an attachment on this thread:

OK thanks, but as seen in the Toyota bulletin I posted previously, it's not as simple as "Just find a Toyota vehicle with the same model engine as your Lexus" as stated in the posting of that thread, given the variances seen in the use of 0w-20 in the 2GR-FE across Toyota models.
I'll continue to be of the position 'caveat emptor' in the use of 0w-20 until I see something more specific to the 2GR-FE variant in the Lexus.

Go with what the book says, oil is cheap, engine shortblocks are not, don't gamble with your engine.
