Are Lexus GS expensive to maintain???

I only see the Brakes, rotors as the big expense besides tires. Anyone?

Mine have been dirt cheap to maintain. Just the basic tire rotations and various filters and engine oil. I don't drive a lot, so I only have one oil change a year.
I also luck out though as my AWD version doesn't go through brakes and tires quickly at all.

I do not think GS is that expensive to maintain as long as you follow all the regular maintenance schedules. Compared to European luxury brands, parts are much cheaper and easier to locate,

It also depends on the age of the vehicle. Eventually, bushing will dry rot, bearing will go out, shocks will go bad, etc. Nothing last forever.
If it's general maintenance, then yea, it's cheaper than a lot of German vehicles. But if you're looking to maintain the overall condition/performance, then yea, you'll spend $$$.

I don't feel like the GS is expensive to maintain - lots of excellent, well priced OEM and aftermarket parts. Also lots of qualified local shops that can work on the car. Plus, you have an amazing forum here on Clublexus with helpful DIY tips/tricks everywhere you turn. Cars are an expense no matter how reliable, there's always something that is needed for proper upkeep.
In my experience, its roughly on average $850/yr in maintenance. Some years all you'll change in the oil/filter...other years something pricey (tires, brakes, suspension) may have issues and you spend a lot more on both parts/labor.
On my previous 2001 GS430, i owned the car from 2005 to 2014 and spent just under $10,000 in repairs over the 9 years (biggest expenses were bad catalytic convertors and suspension issues as the car aged beyond 90k miles). Probably should have got rid of it after the 2nd catalytic went bad but I loved that car so much
I've now owned my 2013 GS for 6years and I've tracked all repairs in a personal spreadsheet. Some i've done myself if possible, some with a local guy, some with the dealership. I've spend around $5,000 over the 6years between the 43k mile mark and 61k mile mark in the tough northeast and maybe some of the worst roads for tires/wheels/suspension in NYC. Biggest costs have been tires, brakes/rotors and a recent leak in the AC:

I don't have a problem going to dealer for maintenance if they really take care of the vehicle. I have experience bad independent mechanics before also.

In terms of regular maintenance, it is as expensive as a Toyota Camry. My car will be 5 years old next month, and I have done 3 oil changes so far, total cost of 40 bucks each oil change, K&N air filter costed me 50 bucks, cabin air filter change costed me 20 bucks, RainX wipers costed me about 30 for a pair, 3 pairs so far, got the brake pads but have not changed them yet, but they were 85 bucks with the shim. So my total expenses for the maintenance so far in 5 years is under 400 dollars, since I do all of those maintenance myself.
Now I drive my car less, so my car has only 48K miles on it. I have done some improvements in the car that have costed me a bit extra, but those were not something that needed to be done. I may have to replace my tires this year, so that will cost about 700-800 bucks.

Maintenance is very subjective from person to person. To me, it means, going over components to keep it in top shape. To someone else, it's just the standard oil and filters change. You do maintenance on components to prevent a bigger issue. You change oil to prevent an engine failure, change a water pump to prevent overheat, change wheel bearing to prevent loose steering, change shocks to prevent abnormal tire wear, etc.

This vehicle maintenance is comparable to a Camry. Toyotas in general are not expensive to maintain. A lot of maintenance can be done as a DIY if one has moderate mechanic skills. I change my wife's oil, in the driveway and I changed out both front and rear brake pads. I bleed my own brake fluid for my GS 350. My only expenses were the actual material and fluids.
