There's a setting in your owner's manual to keep them set where they don't move...

put the car in reverse,
while in reverse adjust your mirror to your back up position that you want
Then put car back in park, engine still running
Hold Set button and your memory function of memory keypad
Voila! Now your mirror settings are saved

If I remember correctly whichever mirror is selected on the pad that mirror will move. If it is in neutral position than neither moves.

Nope. It's a feature so people can back into parking spots and not scrape up against curbs.

Sorry, read "That's correct but how come the mirror went down" in your last post and assumed you were asking if that was an issue. But @toyotaman7 is probably onto something, and maybe the previous owners were trying to avoid a tree? Or just accidentally saved it that way lol. Maybe the dealer they sold it to accidentally saved that preset when they were detailing it. I honestly wouldn't worry about it if you were able to fix it. Highly doubt it's a defect.

Had the same issue on my 22 went in for an oil change and told them. Once done they told me what someone said earlier that I can change it by putting it in reverse I didn't do it myself but they did. So I'm assuming it happened when I was washing my car and folded my mirror on accident.

Ok. I figured it out and now I understand. In all the previous cars I've owned, you have your regular memory mirror settings. Whatever the settings are, when you put the car in reverse, the mirrors just drop down. In this case, there are TWO memory settings. One normal and the other is for reverse. Put the car in reverse, make your left and right side "reverse" settings. Put it in park/drive and make your left and right side "normal" settings.
