Hi Dave,
I just noticed the size of your Darth Vader avatar which is 112 x 70, but when I check the edit avatar page, it still says avatar's max. size has to be 75 x 75 or 19.5KB whichever smaller.
My question is whether it is only the admin./mod's can have bigger avatars ? or if not, what's the real size limit for everyone ?

Only admins can have a larger avatar. One of the perks of the job .
Since I post so much (unlike most of the other admins) I make sure to keep mine very 'lightweight', actually ligher in kb than yours although physically bigger.
