Question Mods, Can we have a Mechanical and Electrical Section added?

As these cars age more issues are coming into play. Can someone add two sub-forums for at least electrical anomalies and perhaps mechanical? And if not asking too much, 250 and 350?? The F folk might like an electrical section too!

Thanks in advance...

Hi, appreciate the suggestion. We weigh a lot of factors into creating a sub-forum including volume of posts on that topic and activity (replies) to those posts, visibility that a post with an issue would get with a problem that's posted there vs the main discussion forum, even likelihood that members will put posts there in the first place if it exists (low) )

I haven't seen all that many threads on electrical topics beyond navigation failures to warrant their own forum quite yet, and those items that are recurring topics we should be creating FAQ posts in the sticky. On mechanical stuff, that should typically fall squarely in the main 2IS forum.

I'd suggest let's start out by beefing up FAQ in electrical and mechanical areas you see that keep getting threads started, and if those grow sufficiently we'll have a track record to come back and reconsider.

How about enable user tagging/mention in the vb script so people can follow up? Unless I missed it in user CP settings?
An example would be @DaveGS4 would notify you to come look at a post as you were mentioned. It's pretty helpful vs trying to subscribe to every thread you participate in.

Thanks...

On that same note, quote notification would be great too but then again 10% of your 27,### posts would be a lot of notifications.... lol
We have these enabled on a motorcycle forum I'm mod on. It's handy when following up / helping others troubleshoot as sometimes weeks can go by before they bring back new information and it keeps the thread members in the loop.

Thanks again...

Yeah, unfortunately we had a lot of abuse in allowing tagging when we opened it up a couple of years ago which took a lot of moderator time and ultimately was disabled... members used it for (often questionable) humor primarily. However you could accomplish the same thing manually by using a @2013FSport in any post you wanted in your short review list, then just search for that (or some other) keyword. Edit and remove from your post if you're done with it.
