Kevin I'll be holding up the back going the speed limit in the LS430 safety car... I usually have some company back at the back, and it's plenty challenging even at posted speed limit.

If you want to come down Thursday night to my house and crash there, then roll in with us Friday a spare bedroom is open.

It'll be a LONG day if you try to drive up Saturday morning and back Saturday night... it's a good 4 1/2 - 5 hour drive to the hotel.

Also - make sure (especially) your brakes are in good working condition if you plan to bring the SC This road will try 'em.

wow ok... im not sure if i'll still have the sc. i found an e46 i really like, and i have a buyer for the sc, but im down at my dads house in fl so i cant sell it. plus i need the money from that for the 328

honestly i dont know if i'd trust the sc to make it all the way up there and back.

before i worry about that i have to see if i can actually go.

its one of these conversations:
"hey mom, can i go up to the tail of the dragon in the mountains with cl?
"sure vincent, just go off with random people you meet on the internet"
"its only for two days"
"your sleeping there too?!?"
what if i brought dave (friend with cobra)?
i just dont like the idea of it.

Dave, don't know if they included mine in the count cuz the person I spoke to said the only rooms in the Lexus group have two double beds and I didn't need that and asked for a room with one queen which was a bit cheaper.

That's what I did as well - got a queen suite which wasn't in our block of rooms so perhaps there are others doing that too.

Paul and Dave, they are correct with only four rooms reserved. I have two rooms reserved about three weeks ago when I was sure that myself and my friends will be going. As far as the others not booking their rooms, I would say that the do so quickly as I heard the Subie guys are up there again the same week that we will be up there.

Dave, Larry and I will open up our garage at our house for those that want to do maintance on their cars before heading up to the dragon one week before we leave. We have power bleeder and other tools to make brake change and flush for those who wish to perform service on their vehicle prior to the drive.

Tried to book today and there was a new girl there who needed a "reservation" number to book under the Lexus rate. I had no clue as to what she was talking about and said I needed to call back tomorrow (7/15) between 7 and 3 to make my reservation

i just talked to one of the girls on the phone there. they said theres still 7 rooms left for the lexus group rate, 76 a night. im going to make mine later today
