I'm going to take the lead and setup this year's Lexus meet at the Dragon.
I've set the date for Labor day weekend so most people will have three days off of work. Also their are no other groups that weekend so Club Lexus will own the roads. The Microtel looks to be the best spot again and our group rates are below. I will be adding to this an agenda as we grow closer to the date. If your interested in any other spots around the area let me know. We will be added to the Dragon web site by the end of the week.

Friday 08/29/2008 - Everyone arrives

Sat 08/30/2008 - Meet starts at 9am there will be a short saftey meeting and a quick overview of our plans. This will be at the Microtel in Robbinsville. We will go over rules, roads, & emergency plans.

Sat 9:15am - We are going to start out on the Cherohala Skyway and run toward the Dragon US129. We will make our way through the Dragon to our lunch stop at one of three places ( haven't decided yet ). After lunch we will make our way to some new roads that have no police and have some fun! I have our tour guide ( Rob with the S2k ) taking us to some great picture spots and very challanging roads along the way. We will even have a chance to drive under a waterfall (more info later). At @ 4pm we will make our way back to the hotel to SSS and get ready for dinner. Drinking and cards later that night at the hotel per popular demand. *** Rob S2K is a non drinker so a midnight Dragon ride for us drunks may be in the plans, we have a DD.***

Sunday 08/31/2008 - Wake and eat, anyone interested in folloing Rob and myself through a 2-3 hour ride to HWY 26 toward Greenville SC are welcome. Rob has told me that these are some of the best roads he has driven on. The Atl people can split on 85 South and the Charlotte can go 85 North. ( which is our route home).

!!! Bring your two way radios, there is no cell phone signal on most areas of the trip!!!

I might make it up there again that weekend. But as of right now, Destin is the location to be at that weekend. Also Jeremy, that radar map is not accurate since THP frequents that TOD website to check up on it. Don't ask me how I know but I received an outstanding award of speed the last time I was up there.

Nooooooo.... That sucks. The guy with the S2K (ROB) knows alot of other more impressive roads around the area that have NO fuzz. So we will do the Dragon but will most likely spend most of our time exploring new roads and enjoying some spirited driving on them. Come on out.
