ATLANTA -- Two men were arrested Monday morning after shots were fired in an apparent road rage incident on I-285 during the morning rush hour, according to police.
No one was hurt by the gunfire, which happened at the Langford Parkway exit on the southwest portion of the southbound Perimeter Highway.
Atlanta Police Officer Kim Jones said a man, identified as Bobby Smith, got out of a silver Lexus and began firing at a black Dodge Ram pick-up truck that Smith said forced him off the road and into the guardrail at the exit.
Police said a total of three shots were fired at the truck, and that at least one hole was found in the windshield of the Lexus. Investigators said the hole in the Lexus apparently came from inside the passenger compartment.
Both Smith and Mikos Wright, the driver of the truck, were taken into custody by Atlanta police. Smith was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and reckless conduct for firing his weapon. Wright was arrested and charged with reckless driving.
