Default For people on lowered AWD cars in and around Charlotte, NC (Can you help?)

Hey guys,

I've been looking forever for someone to lower my 250awd in or around Charlotte, NC. The common responses are either 1) "you aren't going to like the price..." ~ie, $280-$400 ) or 2) "we don't want to lower an awd car, rwd though is a different story..." HUH???

Can anyone suggest to me an affordable / reasonably reliable shop? Thanks!!

Call Euro Wise on Springbrook Road. They are obviously more about European cars, but they are a performance shop, and might do the work for you for a good price.

Thanks, MitchB. I will give em a call tomorrow on my day off.

Any other suggestions for places? I already tried "Speedstyles".. they're the ones who charge $280 for install on our awd cars. Does this sound reasonable to you guys?

i dont know why it would cost more, the install isnt that different from a rwd car, it took me about 4 hours to install on my awdis250, this was also my first time installing springs so if i had previous experience it would prob take only 3 hours.

Is that including the alignment that you need when they are finished? If so, that's a great price.

Dang, I wish we lived closer. I would just ask you to help me out, and pay you instead!

Can't believe most mechanics around Charlotte aren't willing to work on my car.

its really not a hard job to lower he car and $280 doesn't seem to bad if you dont want to get your hands dirty. i do some side work at a shop in Sumter S.C., Mr. Scrape, i can see what they might charge you if you would be willing to drive.

I got this recommendation from a buddy who works at the local Lexus dealer in Charlotte. Don't know how much AWD experience they have (or even if they are still in business since he sent me this in 2009), but its worth a shot

Give Jim Atwell at Carolina auto sports a call, all 3 of their mechanics were long time lexus techs 7047842224

Just called Carolina auto sports and they do not install lowering springs. But she gave me the number to BRE Motorsports 704-723-9235.

280 for an alignment isn't bad at all. we typically charge 4-6 hours for the same job at $89/hour pending on the application.

$280 is without an alignment unfortunately. But so far it seems to be the best I can find.
