Guys I have been working with a few friends to get an event going on the night before Import Alliance since there will be so many guys in from out of town. This should be a great event please indicate your name and vehicle info as well as your interest level high or low.

There will be hands down some of the sickest cars from all over U.S in Atlanta, GA for Import Alliance, and there couldn't be a better time for us to get together and unleash Speed & Mischief. So what's the wait for, lets get this party started.

Okay I added this thread as a link to Bing's thread. I think we should have a rollcall here for people that have REGISTERED and are going.

i've been to the first 2 events.. 1st one was basically sitting around in parking lots all night. the 2nd one, all the cars were spread out so far, we ended up going 30 mph on the highway for at least more than half the time waiting for others to catch up. could the event be fun? yes. could you get in a ton of trouble by participating? yes. is this something i would recommend to a bunch of lexus enthusiast? probably not.

i would hate to see any of the CL members get into an accident, get pulled over, go to jail, or have your car impounded.... just food for thought.

I just got in touch with the organizer for Speed and Mischief and we'll be meeting to hash out the details. I'll update you all after we meet.

Had a lot of fun at the last event, love the concept and kudo's to Sunny for organizing it. There were a few hick-up with the groups meeting up but that's expected especially if some groups were going close to 100 plus mph.

I would have to agree with Dan that there is the possibility to get in trouble if something goes wrong during the cruise. My preference would be to drive at an acceptable speed and leave the speeding for the track.

Check the facebook page for info and video of past events.

^^ i hear you, but the whole point of this "cruise" is to drive with spirit. my main concern with this year's event is that he is intentionally having it the day before import alliance. if any of the guys from import alliance get wind of this, expect to see a ton of honda's, acuras, etc. not that there is anything wrong with these cars, but think about how old these guys are, maturity levels, driving skills, etc... the element of risk just went up at least 10 times.

i, for one, won't be participating in this event. i just have a bad feeling about it. i hope it goes well and without any major issues, but it just isn't worth the risk in my eyes. good luck to any of you who do decide to participate.

i am still open to hosting a meet at my shop prior to this event... and to those who come into town and also don't feel like taking the risk, we can still hit up the kilt afterwards. not trying to stay out till 3am and then having to sit in a parking lot all day. guess im getting old... lol

Well actually I contacted Sunny and suggested that he have it the night before IA so that we could get some of the VIP and higher end cars that are coming in from other areas. I thought it would be nice to have an event that also included other activities that guys from out of town would like to be involved in dinner, club. If there are some concerns about the speeds or anything else we can address all of that with him and make sure that the event is tuned to our liking.

I hear you and understand where you are coming from. To put this in perspective, I had 2 really close calls in the past event. It came down to split second decisions to avoid a potentially disastrous accident. The more cars there are, the more the risk increases. At the end of the day, most of this forum consists of adults, who will, most likely, make good decisions, its the rest of everyone else that concerns me.

As hard as Sunny may try to keep this event exclusive, others will find out about it and crash it, as they have at both of the previous events. With Import Alliance in town, I can only expect WAY more people to crash it... Think about it, if you are a kid and drive a honda of some sort and hear that the dopest cars of the Southeast are going to be on this cruise, wouldn't you want to find a way to get involved? Now multiply this person by 100..... just not worth the risk imo.

as i said before, for those who do participate, wish you guys the best of luck and hope everything goes without any issues.

Hey Mark, when's the next time you'll be in town to check up on your car? I can arrange to meet with Sunny and Mike at that time. Dan brings up very valid points, so I think we need to meet to tailor this to our liking, like maybe do our own cruise after the dinner/nightclub event. I'm like Dan, I do not want to be caught in a mob of reckless, over-enthusiastic people crashing the cruise. Plus, the cops will probably be out in force, and we don't want to get caught up in anything by association.

So you main concern seems to be with the cruise part of it? Maybe we should consider eliminating the cruise and make it just a huge meet with dinner and go clubbing afterwards. Perhaps we can get some media types to come out and take pictures and shoot some video of the vehicles.

I have a show car so I know exactly what you mean about trying to avoid incidents. Every second that I drive my car I am on guard and would not risk it on the streets with careless drivers. Thank you for your input.

Hey guys....Sunny here.

I take everyone's safety very highly, as I am part of this event as well. Neither do I wanna get in trouble or want to see anyone part of it and do my very best. Past two events have been very successful, not 1 car got into any kind of trouble...not from cops or accident *touch wood*. Each car at this event is a high value car and I take that in count. I do my scouting for the best route possible for the event like I did for the past events, where I drove the route and looked for a best parking lot before I finalized the route.

-As it being a "cruise", no one is advised to drive at high rate of speed or told by me. It is totally upto the person, they can drive at 55mph or 110mph, whatever they are comfortable with. People can very well group up, stay together and maintain that speed throughout the cruise. I have scouts up front and in the back looking for cops. They do very well of calling me back when they see one so we can stay out of trouble.

-Plenty of Honda, Acura, Nissan 240 folks have gotten wind of the events in past as well. Atlanta is full of them. No one other than who was invited showed up at the last 2 events and crashed. This is the exact reason I have local police department at the event so no unwanted people are their. I do my best to keep the location private and route is handed out to attendees in person.

-1st event we waited in the parking lot for 45mins because half of the group took the wrong exit and got lost. I didn't want to leave those people out because they were attendees, and unfamiliar with the area so best choice was to wait and let them re-group. How would you feel if I left you out?

-2nd event, we were in 2 groups (reason you had to slow down to 30mph to wait) is because Atlanta PD promised me 2 police escorts to block the red lights for us to stay together, and only 1 showed up then said we'll have to wait another hour for 2nd one. It was already 10pm, everyone had dinner, and car were staged to roll in parking lot. Waiting another hour wasn't a option when 60 cars are lined up to leave. In the end we all caught up, safe and sound.

Dan, I don't know if you are thinking I am keeping people away from your meet? I am surprised to see this criticism from you since you never brought these points or close calls up to me in person or PM or email or call. As you told me you had lots of fun at 1st event, came to second event as well, and went without hesitation. Sad to hear you won't be joining us this year. If you have any questions, do feel free to call me.

I try very hard to keep everyone happy. If Club Lexus thinks it is best in their interest/safety to stay out of Cruise then by all means do what's best for you . I rather see happy enthusiasts than worried .

Thanks Darren, last 2 events have been 1 man job. It took lots to get it where they were. I'll try my best to make the hick-up disappear this time around .
