4/29/12 Mountain Run - Let's Do This!
Alright Ladies & Gentlemen,
A lot of us were flirting with the idea of going for a mountain drive for awhile, then Danny (quick123) mentioned that a few of his coworkers are going up to Six Gaps (North Georgia) on Sunday, April 29th.
We'll be meeting at the McDonald's off the intersection of Holcomb Bridge Road and Old Alabama Road at 7:00AM that morning and we will leave for the mountains at 7:30. We're trying to avoid as much traffic as possible hence the early start.
Here is a map of the route. I've never done this one before but quick123 knows it well:

And here is a thread that quick123 posted up last time he ran up there:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...mountains.html
Roll Call:
1) quick123 - IS350 (plus his coworkers/family)
2) Greg - IS350
Not responsible for any speeding tickets that you may rack up during this fun-venture.

sweet...I am already signed up...lol
Thanks for getting this going Greg...the route is pretty simple, and it hits all the gaps in the best direction:
Take 400N until it ends in Dohlonega...we will gas up the station right there, make a pit stop, get the cameras ready, and then it is on!!!!...turn left at 60, right at 180, right at 129, left at 75, left at 348, right at 180, right at 75 and ending in Helen for lunch and a beer.

I'm in too. I ran this in my A4 and had so much fun I almost made myself sick. Good call on the early arrival, though. It was packed when we went up in early May and full of tourists/gawkers obsessed with beauty and GOING TOO SLOW! Make sure you have your radar detectors handy, though.
BTW, my previous club had the idea of getting some of those short range radios so we could keep in touch. You know, the ones that you can get at WalMart/Target for $30. Just in case you get separated... even though the man says "you gotta keep 'em separated."

BTW, as a suggestion for meeting place- how's about North Point Pkwy Starbucks?
