When the MR2 crew went last time I was with them we stayed here. Close to stuff and pretty close to the Gap, I remember it being like 20 minutes or so.

Nice rooms and big parking lot.

PS.

I just checked it on the map from Deal's Gap resort at the base to the hotel above, less than 15 miles...

Default hameed

hey hameed,
i have family that drives down to north carolina from toronto and they get speeding tickets every trip. I dont think you would have to pay if you got a ticket in the states. But i could be wrong, just some info for ya.

Hameed, how old are your sons? I'm thinking of bringing one or both of mine, ages 12 and 14.
Mine are 6½ and 4

Yeah, I know, but I would rather not just get the ticket to begin with.

I thinks it's more the convenience of being closer to other things like gas, multiple food choices, car wash etc... I just remember that while the Tapoco was nice, there was absolutely nothing else around there for miles and miles and miles, and did I mention, miles?

Here are some pictures of one of the S2000 meets at the Dragon.

http://www.lilaw.info/the_dragon.htm

Guys I hope we can get a similar Lexus turnout to what the S2000 club can do for this meet... wouldn't that be awesome?

Also on that site, Eliot has a movie of a motorcycle driving part of the Dragon (note this is just one small part of it!) that will give folks that haven't been there at least a little preview of what the road is like. Right Click and Save As -->http://www.lilaw.info/images/Dragon/11-minute%20run.wmv

Site linked with permission.

Great video! That bike was almost going as fast as me on those curves.

I especially liked those leaning shots as the bike hugged those curves...

A lot like the body roll of the RX...only in the opposite direction.

That would certainly be something if we could get as many Lexi !! I just counted about 50 in one of those pics!!

Maybe a fancy website will convince more folk to come down?

I second that. Last year we went on vacation and the hotel was about 15 mins away from anything else and my family and I just hated having to drive into the closest town for anything at all. Especially when you stay at the hotel for a couple of days like we plan to. (probably 4 or 5 days at least).

Microtel gets my vote. I liked my room last time, lotsa room. We NEED to be by food and car washes and other lil luxuries. This is not a camping trip.

This place looks great. And better than Microhel.

Bit, I can appreciate you not wanting to stay at a 'chain', but this room looks like something straight outta the 70s Holiday Inn

Who gives a crap what the decorations are in the room, eh? You won't appreciate it with your eyes closed anyway.

Trust me, it's a good place to stay. Very close to Andrews and everything there (resaurants, theater (very small, only two screens but they show first runs for less than $5, gas) and it's also close to The Dragon. When we went the cut us a better rate too for having enough pre-booked rooms.
