Not until you posted this, looks like a fun event.... to bad it's on the same weekend. However, I'll take a drive on the Dragon over the Hyper-Fest any day for all-day fun potential. Hyper-Fest will probably keep some of the other drivers off the road for us, too so that's not bad for us!

OK, I just spoke with the manager at the MicroTel. She's offered us a 10% discount off their standard rates. Our rate code is Lexus and will be available in the morning tomorrow (Tuesday, July 1).

Unless folks have objections, I'm also going to go ahead and make group lunch reservations at the Tapoco Lodge. I thought it was a good spot last year:

- nice location right at the foot of the main drive
- plenty of room for a big group
- decent food
- reasonably priced
- good meeting spot for folks coming up for just a day trip to Deal's Gap to catch up with the larger group before slaying "the Dragon".

Thanks Kaygee, was about to post the same thing here. I called this morning and apparently the owner didn't get the code setup last night. I gave all the info to the desk manager this morning and she said she'd get it setup asap. Sounded like it doesn't 'take effect' until tomorrow morning, but she took my reservation info anyway.

I'd recommend waiting until Wed 7/2 to call like Kaygee mentioned above.

I guess I'll have to suffer with the little teeny tub in my room .

I'm tempted to pack a card table in the car for the drive up for the poker playin'.
