Guys I'm also considering late August as well. Will take all the info we've got so far on our own meets and those of other groups and we'll post a date soon.

Let me know if there are any issues with last couple weekends of August.

I do have concerns about shifting this into October, the roads up there really get jammed up with old ladys looking at the leaves. We don't want to be doing any 'spirited driving' with them in front of us.

I'll try to work around the dates, but there is no way everyone will be happy! One of you might end up missing a game to make it . It WILL be worth it.


Had hoped to work on nailing the date this weekend, but my LS got broken into at the airport (stole my valentine one off the dash, smashed window, cut up some stuff) and that kind of derailled my planning enthusiasm. I'll hopefully get back to it next weekend!

I don't think it was the car that attracted the attention, it was the $400 radar detector sitting on the dash. I usually pull it off when I park at the airport and put it in the glove box, but that didn't happen this time.

You'd think with all the extra security at airports they'd have cameras, etc to catch these guys. The car was in hourly parking in plain view of the terminal dropoff area where cops walk back and forth all day. Makes me feel real comfortable they're keeping an eye out.

I'm not really all that bothered by it... that stuff happens. I just hate all the time I'm going to have to invest to put the car back right. And some stuff (like replacing the steering wheel for the gouge) I probably won't do. The dealer told me that's $1800 to replace. I just can't justify that for a little cosmetic item, even if it doesn't come out of my pocket.

Ouch!! Very sorry to hear that Dave. I know what it feels like to have your car broken into. A couple of years ago (maybe 6), I had one of my cars broken into and my stereo system stolen (it was an upgraded system) and the feeling of personal violation is hard to describe.

I plan on getting a beater come winter this year, but it will be a real "beater" - something for about $2K - $3K at the most.
