Default Moving to Raleigh/Cary NC this weekend any locals?

Hi Guys,

Me and the wife are moving to Raleigh/Cary area this weekend. Is there any one local there? Trying to meet some new people.

How do you guys like the area? We are moving from North East. Trying to do something else in life.

Any tips? Good places to eat/drink?

Thank you

Not in that area personally, but have friends that have moved there that love it. Welcome to NC!

I grew up near Greensboro, went to school in Chapel Hill, and now live in Raleigh. Great state with mountains to the west (check out Asheville) and beaches to the east for easy day or weekend trips. The Triangle (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill) area has an amazing food scene that rivals cities much larger than it. Not much to do outdoors compared to other cities. A newer and growing Cars & Coffee in Morrisville on the 1st Saturdays of every month. The Porsche Southpoint (Durham) dealership also has a small cars & coffee on the same day as the Morrisville one, and on that note, this area has a really sick Porsche community with Road Scholars and the Ingram collection if you're into that kind of stuff. Not the worst place you could move to. If any specifics, ask away!

We moved to Cary in Aug 2019 from Long Island, NY. So far loving it - lot of trails, ponds, lakes, not so busy roads (compared to NY and LA where we lived earlier). What type of food you like? We loved food from Alpaca (Peruvian), Gausaca (south american), Coriander and Anjappar (Indian). Yet to explore more in the area.

Is this still going on? I'm new to Greensboro and I need a car scene! Around what time is it usually?

Really I'm looking for some night time car meets but I'll take whatever I can get

I plan to move up there sometime next year too and was curious how the snow/ice/salt situation is on the roads. Do they salt the roads? Will I need snow tires or will all season be enough?

No salt, chemicals and sand in the rare occasion we get ice or snow. You’ll be fine with all seasons 9 of 10 years and in the 10th when it snows, everything shuts down for a couple days so you have nowhere to go.
