Default DFW Housing Market

Anyone here familiar with the housing market in the Dallas area. I am graduating from grad school this December and have accepted a job in Dallas (finally moving back permanently). Anyhow, I need some help finding a place to buy in Dallas for under $225k. I am looking for something that is newer, is open, and has a good size back yard (ie more than 5 yards deep). Any suggestions? Oh, and I would like to find something within a 30 minute drive from downtown Dallas.

I currently have an outstanding offer in the Plano area, however I am becoming reluctant that they will come down (they are asking too much). Any ideas on where else I should look?

Thanks

north dallas is the place to be.

well, it beat the heckout of driving from Frisco. ( too coockie cutter/ and crowded)

there is some nice peaceful neighborhoods ( older and established) in N Dallas off of 635 and Midway,

what kind of house are you looking for? sqft? stories? style? year?

It looks like I am going to end up with a home in Plano...roughly 2400 sq. ft. I looked in north Dallas, but everything was older than I like. I guess its really not the age that bothers me, but rather the low ceilings.
