I've been a Club Lexus owner and GS owner since 2001. Certainly haven't contributed to the form in awhile (work keeps me busy).

Ive been in San Antonio for the past 9 months (supporting the new Toyota Tundra plant) and have had seen some nice GS vehicles since I've been here.

- A few weeks ago, I saw a Blk/Blk GS (no badging) come up behind me on Huebner, while I was out with the fam in our Quest - his car looked so good, I tried my best to keep up with him as he weaved in and out of traffic (even though we had 2 kids in the back, and Cars playing on the RSE, my wife urged me to keep up...she loves the 2genGS too) - caught up with the guy 2 lights later and complimented him on his vehicle - found out he had no mods but had Zinetti wheels. The GS looked GOOD...

- This morning, on I10-S in San Antonio heading for 410 west bound I see this familiar shape about a half mile ahead.... pull up on a Silver GS obviously modded but definitely not over done - stay with him until the Sea World exit. Another good looking GS!

Since there are obviously at least 2 GS enthusiasts in S.A, any chances of organizing a mini-meet? I'm thinking a few hours on a Saturday afternoon would be great! Followed by a lap around the city?

I'm an hour away in Austin, I'd be down to meet. We're finishing the paint on my kit this week at our shop. Maybe this needs to be moved to the regional forums?

 

Count me in. I'm bone stock now and don't plan on doing much upgrading for the exception of exhaust. About to have Daizen bushings installed and possibly have the pretensioner adjusted to see if i can get rid of that annoying wheel shake at 60+.

I've been in S.A less than a year. Do you "old-timers" have any suggestions on when and where?

 

Back in my IS days, we used to go to Dave & Busters parking lot, chit chat for a few and then drive off somewhere to throw a munch and then after that cruise, but we used to do all that in Austin...I miss those days

But I am up for anything, just PM me and let me know what's up, usually on a Saturday Night would be ok for me

 

I'd have my wife and 2 year old daughter with me so i'd suggest during a weekend and during the daytime preferably so we can enjoy the cruise. Not sure of places to go though. You all can contact me via PM and let me know when we can all get together.

 

someone help me find a GS300 so i can join the fun! i am in the market for one. anyone here willing to go kick a few tires with me and watchout for bad sellers?

I'd go with a 350, I owned a 300 and it's underpowered

 

Yeah but aftermarket parts are plentiful for the IS300. Being the car has been around for a few years, parts aren't as expensive as there are tons of preowned parts to be had. Still alot of bling with an IS300.

hey david, i messaged the guy on TRS with no reply. could you tell me what he or any other service tech you trust charge for a 90k service on a 99GS300 here in town? i got a quote of $946+tax at North Park
