Default CPO Question

So, here's the story: My wife and I bought a 2007 IS350 in June of 2009. The car was advertised and sold as a CPO from a Lexus dealership. Just recently, my wife was inquiring about potential recalls and wanted to check if her car is or is not involved.

She contacted our local Lexus dealer (same company we bought it from, but different location) and found out that her VIN is not listed as a CPO car in their system. When she checks the service records on the Lexus owner's page, it shows all the pre-cert work done and we have an email from the sales person stating a price + TTL + certified.

My question is, is there a way to find out for sure if this car is CPO-ed based on the VIN? If it is not a CPO car, and it was sold to us with the CPO premium, what actions are we able to take?

Any help is appreciated. Unfortunately, my first post on this forum has to be under these circumstances.

UPDATE: Apparently, the car was listed on www.lcpo.com, advertised as a CPO car and sold to us as a CPO car. However, the certification was removed prior to us buying it and we were NOT expressly told that the certification was removed during negotiation... Now, what can we do? Any ideas?
