Thanks. As far as factors for big brakes, the biggest is how close the spokes of the rims are to the stock calipers. If there's not an inch or more of gap, forget getting big brakes. While offset plays some role, the angle/design of the spokes plays the biggest role, often referred to as 'high disc fitment'. a low disc fitment has the spokes 'in' the fender well as much as possible which is good if you want the largest and most noticeable rim lip. My front rims have 1.5-2" lip but it's not so noticeable because the high disc fitment makes the spokes come straight out of the fender well at the rim edge to make for maximum brake clearance.

You can also download a printable template from StopTech's web site that you print, cutout, and stick to a piece of cardboard and you can measure inside a rim to make sure the brakes will fit.
