Thumbs up Replaced Lower Ball Joints

Just replaced my LBJ's on my 2002 GS300 after watching this YouTube video:
. This video is probably the most concise demonstration of how to do it. I didn't have a lift, but used a floor jack and jack stands. Once you get the wheel off there are two nuts with cotter keys and two bolts to remove, and they are easily accessible while sitting on the floor. I lifted the the caliper and rotor assembly up just enough to remove the lower ball joint and replace it withe the new one. This last step is much easier with a helper. A must for making the job easy is a Ball Joint Separator, https://www.harborfreight.com/3-4-qu...tor-99849.html. I used this on both the outer tie rod and the lower ball joint.

Been forever but I don’t remember having to remove that caliper bolt. I did have the fun of having that balljoint break on me. Glad you replaced it before that point.

The two bolts I removed did not go into the caliper, they went through the lower ball joint into the knuckle.

The person in the video undid one of the caliper bolts to give themselves more room to use the ball joint separator.

I wonder if that was a GS300? Maybe an IS300, GS400, GS430? At any rate, I didn't remove a bolt in that area. I was able to remove the castle nut from the tie rod end with a box end wrench. I wasn't able to get a socket wrench over that castle nut, but I didn't have any trouble attaching the ball joint separator.
