Looks like your axle CV boot is leaking the grease out. Yes, I would fix it.

Agreed. CV axle boot is leaking grease. It definitely needs repaired and it's probably a good time to check out all the boots and joints for wear. I'm in the middle of tearing apart an old ES300 - replacing almost everything both sides. Good luck.

How many miles on that AWD? Mine started around 80k miles or so. It's probably due to I was driving the heck out of it. Mostly on the front axels. The rears not so much, but they are starting to leak as well.

Free undercoating. That looks like the original axle if possible save it by having the boots replaced.
