Front brake pads is350
l may sound like a silly question, but man I have spent about half hr online and cannot really find a clear answer so decided to post here, my apologies if it has already been gazillion times asked before.
I have a 2012 is350 F-Sport, need front brake pads soon.
Went to eBay and found the brand Akebono, it states enter the vehicle and for is350 is the base line. From my understanding isn't the F-Sport bigger/different calipers?
The same goes for AutoZone, Advanced Auto, for is350 is bade model. Unless, it is after all the same calipers regardless of F-Sport or not.
According to Lexus online stores it is ptr0953111, for $160ish or so.

The brake pads provided by Lexus and any online store, had this shim that runs the full back face of the pad, glued to it, not placed. I am not sure if it is a revision, or they are saving in production stating it is for all models. My original pads had a slanted groove and the shims were halfway on the pad.
Original pads have an angle, shims run halfway, not all the way to the edge.
I had to cut all the end L tabs as that little bit of metal would jam the pad in the caliper channel.
I ended buying Detroit Axle, I compared them to Lexus, exactly the same, and pictures show BOTH Detroit and Lexus do not have the angle edges, and do have the shim full edge to edge.
*
With the Dremel and a file, cleaned up all the rough edges, no high spots, pads move smoothly in the calipers without getting pinched.
***
Impressed w Lexus, not a drop of rust anywhere, this is the final result. One of the pin locking wires broke, so I used HD rc body clips had extras from my ARMA Notorious. No sweat as the front uses body clips.
One of the wires broke (rears), and the one in the kit is not the same.
***
Extra misc photos, barely running metal to metal....
