Anyone heard of D2 coilovers for Lexus?
I was researching some wheel packages for a member today, and the rep from Wheels Boutique was telling me they will now be carrying a line of coilovers for Lexus manufactured by a company called D2. I have never heard of them, he was saying that they are new and they are a M/B tuner (I think) that is expanding to Lexus and other makes.
He said the pricing is going to be substantially less than Tein, JIC, etc. I told him to keep me informed, but I just figured I would get a preliminary rundown from my CL family!
Anyone familiar with D2?
Mods, please allow this one to breathe in the GS forum for maximum visibility, I appreciate it!

If they are a lot less than Tein and JIC then I would HAVE to question reliability and quality, but that's just because I'm an A-Hole.
Keep us informed.

D2 is a Taiwanese brand, and is very cheap to get in Taiwan. Probably only 1/3 of the price of the more known brands.
I personally does not like the brand, since they do some cheaty marketing. They are using pictures of German DTM cars and some of these cars have the D2 logo.
However, D2 is one of the German telecom companies and has nothing to do with the D2 coilovers.
Also, I think they registered the D2 name in the UK, but what I already said, the Mercedes pics they are using are used in the German DTM races, and have nothing to do with the UK.
I personally do not have experience with their products. They got be of good quality, but because of the way they do their marketing , I don't dare to try their products.

Wow HKG, thanks! He actually mentioned something about them using German cars that say D2 on the side, etc etc.
I guess we will have to just see if this is a good product or snakeoil!!
Thanks again , great write up

I think the product itself may be a good product.
They claim it is rebuildable.
I just do not like the way they promote their products.
By the way, nowadays many performance products are made (entirely or partially) in Taiwan, even some leading Japanese brands. I guess the most important thing is good QC.
