Lowering a GS400 - L-tuned springs + / - shocks
i'm planning to lower my car - 1" and add 19" wheels ! finally i've decided about the L-tuned springs - i love the soft stock ride ! now, the question - should i change the shocks with the L-tuned ones or just use the stock shocks ? The car has 40k miles ! Thx.

Change the shocks...you will need something to match the lowered spring. You can wait, but the current shocks will wear faster. It's probably easier to just pay now versus pay more later...
Also, lots of springs offer comparably smooth rides (Daizen, Eibach, etc..) The L-tuned are made by Eibach for Lexus...Just make sure you do your homework or you will be revisting this again in the near future.

Go ahead and change the shocks IMO.

I heard that the Espelir springs will also be soft like stock. It will just drop lower.
As for install, if you can manage it now, I'd recommend doing both. The stock shocks will not last long with the new lowering. Installation of shocks or springs or shocks/springs is the same procedure. If you do them separately, you are paying for install twice. You can just put the money from the 2nd install towards the shocks now.
