Noises from the brakes right after a car wash
Hi everyone.
I wash my own cars maybe once a month, the rest of the time its done by a mobile detailer in my office building.
This afternoon, I washed the IS300 and had a very strange experience that I'm worried about.
After washing the car, the brakes made a horrendous noise and vibration that I never heard before. The noise only happened right as the car came to a complete stop and only for the first half dozen stops I made.
Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone have any ideas what it might be? Should I be worried?
Thanks for your help.

i experience the same too. it's just the water that gets on the rotors and stuff and as soon as you start to drive and heat up the brakes and evaporate the water it will be fine. no biggie

Shouldn't even take half a dozen stops. It's ususally just a layer of surface rust on the rotors that the pads grind on for maybe 2-3 initial stops, on average.
If your hand is small enough to reach through the wheel spokes, you could try wiping the outside part of the rotors dry with a towel before you actually start up and go....or blowing the water off with an air hose before it rusts. That might lessen the noise and vibration.
A firm stab at the pedal will give you less grinding than a very light one.
