Update:

My Calipers, Shim kit, Fitting Kit, and Pads came in today.

But before I continue to ramble on, I have to Thank Steve and Bobby at Carson Toyota. These gentlemen run a very organized system. I ordered my parts on Monday morning and they arrived today(Thursday). That's 3 days. They have clearly exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommended doing business with Steve and Bobby to anyone here on ClubLexus. I know I will continue to do so. Again, Thanks guys!

Now, onto the parts. The Calipers are huge. To be honest with you, I can't believe they're sitting in my living room right now. Hopefully, I'll have them installed this Sunday. Here is an updated picture of what I have. I also have Motul DOT 4 brake Fluid and extra disc brake grease not pictured. Again, sorry for the quality of the pic(I'm still using an old school Mavica digital brick camera).

Nice lookin rotors. Try and get a weight on those before you put everything together. If you need help w/anything, let me know- I just completed my upgrade a few weeks ago.

Tim

edit* for you and Tony- are you guys gonna be at the meet on the 18th in Simi Valley? I'm driving in from OK for it.

Hey Tim, what would you like me to weigh? The rotors? Calipers?
I can try and weigh them with a hand held scale I use often for Saltwater Fishing. It might not be totally accurate, but its pretty close- Like + or - a few ounces.

These Calipers look heavier than they actually are.

And Tim, that'd be great if you can make it to the meet.

I was hoping you could weight the rotors for me to compare them to my one piece "near stock" rotors.
I was just wondering how much weight that middle section saves you (I'm guessing that's aluminum?)

I guess I'll cya at the meet then!

I don't know wether they are heavy or light but these Rotoras weigh about 16 pounds a piece. Hope this helps Tim.

Sounds like you are saving a couple pounds. From Rich's website, http://www.intellexual.net/faq.html#029 , stock rotors are supposed to be 20lbs. I'm guessing mine are somewhere in between yours and stockers since they're cross drilled.

Thanks for checking, I was just curious.

Well, I finally took the plunge with Supra TT Front brakes and it couldn't have gone smoother. Anyone who has already done this conversion was totally right, everything bolts up perfectly. The front SS lines by Earl's fitted in perfect as well. I was impressed at my own abilities with this install/mod. It was pretty easy and straightforward. I'm glad I took the plunge.

The only thing that was really time consuming, was the trimming I did to the dust shield.
Originally, I was going to take it off completely, but my uncle(who is a Fix-All guy) persuaded me to trim it. It was a good idea because after the trimming, it looked ok.

The other time consuming part was the bleeding process of the Brake Fluid.

The test drive: I haven't gotten on these brakes yet because I still have to brake them in. Manaray had a good brake-in instructions/recommendations on an old post, I did and still doing what he recommended. The last thing I need is warping my Rotors. By the feel of it, it has definetly improved. The spongy feeling has been taken care of and the car actually slows down when the brakes are initally applied.

I would definetly recommend this to anyone who plans to do this upgrade. Any average person could do this. I know I can do it all by myself next time(My white SC4 in the future). Removal/Install time, 1 1/2 hours on the passenger side and an hour on the drivers side. The first side always takes longer because we had to trim the shield accordingly and fit the Rotor on so it can spin freely. The SS lines had to be modified slightly too. The tab that bolts the line to the upper control arm via 2, 10mm bolts had to be modified to fit and hold the SS line in place. Anyways, here are the pics.

Up close pic, I was surprised the my Advan wheels had at least another 1/2 an inch between the spoke and the caliper.

Here is the Dust Shield trimmed, this is the stock SC dust shield. However, this pic does not show the bottom part of the shield, which was trimmed as well to allow the rotor to spin freely.

Here is a pic of the brakes during the install. Everything was together at this point minus the new fluid. As you can see, my stock shock/spring setup is pretty much shot. I will be getting coilovers soon.

Pictured here are Stock calipers and my previous set of Rotors. These old Calipers are 275,000 miles old. Rotors and pads only have about 15K miles on them. I will possibly be *selling* the old calipers if anyone needs them. Rotors and Pads are not going up for sale because they will go on my white SC.

Looks good man and good to know the ss lines are a direct fit. I still can't believe how much space you have in the wheel though, what size are those? With my tt 17" wheels, the rotor takes up almost all of the empty space.
And happen to have a link to manarays break in post?
