Question JIC or Cusco STB on a 1998-2000 SC400

I have searched several posts but I am not able to determine if the Cusco, JIC , or any Supra STB's will fit the 1998-up SC400. Most of the posts deal with the 92-96 SC's. I'm pretty sure the suspension mounts are the same for all SC's. It seems that my 1993 SC400's motor sat slightly higher than my 1998's did. Has anyone tried installing an STB on their 1998-2000 SC400 with or without the OEM spacers? I am ordering a stock 1997 MKIV Supra TT spring/strut setup and would like to add an STB for better handling capabilities. Any feedback would be great.

I just put in my Supra TRD TT Strut bar in my 95 SC...

If you got a picture of the 98 VVT-i engine, I could gladly tell you if you have clearance issues...

Thanks OneHot....You have a SWEET ride by the way. NICE !! Well I guess my new SC may have a little more room to spare than my 1993 (perhaps I only need one spacer...hopefully none). That's what I'm hoping for, at least. I really want a good STB to go with my 1997 Supra TT Suspension. I will try to dig up a pic of my engien bay and show you.

Thanx again,

Here are some pics of the engine. Let me know if you think a Supra STB will fit. Thanks again.

I hope these pics will help you determine if one will fit or not. I seriously hope so. I have seen the Greddy(TRUST) GREX and it seems to do quite well on my friends Supra. So let me hear your opinion(s).

Thanks again!!

I do not think the 98-00 engine bay supports the Cusco/Supra STB with that engine cover in place. Here is something that might help you.

Thanx for the info Legendary! If worse comes to worse, I can always make one . I will try the spacers. I am just worried about what Manaray said about not having enough thread on the stud. I think STB's may work on the 1999 SC300's. I think my motor is about the same height, just wider (esp. with the engine cover). Again, thanks for the insight. I will keep searching and let everyone know if I find a different solution.

Yea legendary is correct, you'll have to take off the engine cover...

You might not have to use spacers since your VVT-i is slight shorter than the older 1UZ-FE..

The only way to tell right now is using trail and error...

Yeah....I guess I can do without the cover if it helps my overall handling. Thanks for the info guys. I will keep you posted on my progress.

The 1UZ-FE looks beautiful without the engine cover as well. Sacrifice it for the improved steering response!

got a question, i am going to put on my strut bar on, and i need the spacers, and i followed the link and find out the parts # and call toyota, they said that the part# is wrong, can anyone confirm that part #, and one more thing is that the person told me that that spacers is not able to put on lexus SC, and i am looking at that thread and you all people are using that spacers, so i am kinda confuse.

Whoever you spoke to was an IDIOT...Call elsewhere...

This is NOT a Toyota part..You have to call Lexus in order to get it since its SC OEM reinforcements..
