I'm running L-tuned (Eibach) springs with stock shocks now.
The ride is just slightly stiffer than stock but still very comfortable.
They only lowered my car about 1" if that. I would like to lower
a bit more as from some angles the car doesn't even look like
it's beel lowered.

I'm also running the L-tuned sways. Big improvement in cornering
ability whith these. I would highly recommend them.

AndrewG13: sounds like a nice setup. i have the area51 sways and love mine. Did you notice any handling diff with your eibachs? Do you have a prob with bottoming out on stuff? Also, have heard the stock shocks will go out after like 30k miles, is this true with the small drop the eibachs provide? Also doesn't lowering throw off your camber? Any uneven tire wear? Overall worth it?

DAG,
The ride was a bit stiffer than stock. My guess is 10-20%. If you like to dive a bit
aggressively than this will be a good thing as the car is more responsive, percise
and less lean. Not harsh at all.

I've never bottomed out or scraped. The drop was very minimal. Most people don't even
notice the car has been lowered. I'd like it to be a little lower personaly just to have
a more aggressive look.

I'm pretty sure the stock shock are working harder now with the Eibachs. Not sure
how long they will last. I've had my setup for about 5k miles. I do notice that the front
is a bit underdamped when driving the car hard.

I did get a 4 wheel alignment after the Eibachs were put in. They were able to bring the
car back to spec no problems. So I don't have any uneven tire wear so far.

If it is worth it is up to you . If you are willing to sacrifice a little bit of comfort for a better
handling car then yes it is.

Hope I was able to answer all your questions. Let me know how your search goes.

Andrew

Yes the L-tuned and Eibach Pro Kit are the same. I got mine from
Carson Toyota (www.l-tunedparts.com). Just give them a call
they are an awsome place to purchase from and are very
knowledgeable on the IS300. I think it was about $250. But it's
been a while.

Hey well thanks AndrewG13, you've been helpful. My friend SCLex just got Eibachs on his SC400 and he says it rides better as in comfort and handling. But yeah, i'll have to give Carson a call.

tanabe nf baby! the best springs for the IS. it looks lowered and it still rides like stock. the spring rate was raised 10% so it doesn't overwork the factory shocks.
