Default vibration, and a wobble....

I get a very bad vibration in the wheel and maybe the back end to..Only at speeds above 65mph. Tires are new, and balanced. If this is a clue, when I back out of a parking space, and turn the wheel sharply, I feel a slight wobble in the front when backing up slowly..(hope that makes sense)..

Are there bushings that are known to wear out, tie rods, etc? Car has 110k on it. Could it be that I just need tires balanced? It has been like this since I bought the car used @ 90k.

I have been experiencing the same symptoms as you are describing. I thought it was my wheels as well, so I had them checked out and balanced. It turns out the one of my front calipers seized up resulting in increased friction on one wheel causing intense wheel shaking at highway speeds.

Just something for your to consider and investigate. Good Luck

I am having this exact same problem and I suspect that it too could be the brakes. I'm driving on some worn out rotors and was told that my brake fluid return lines were worn out as well, which causes calipers to stick.

Your problems are the bushings, im almost 100% positive. Check your control arms and then check your camber and any unbalanced thread wear.

Eric, sounds like your wheels are either outta balance or you may have a leaking tyre resulting in bubbles in the sidewall (very scary).

I found a post that says if the lower control arms weren't tightened enough then that could be what's causing the popping. Would that also cause vibration?

The wobble problem you are describing is a classic lower control arms bushings symptom. Most likely your bushings need to be replaced. The best way to confirm that is by raising the car and taking a close look at the bushings. A mechanic will be able to tell if they show cracks.

thanxs for the feed baks! (: ..uMm..but i changed my front lower nd upper bush kit alreadys it could be my tires? would the rims cause vibration if it was bent a lil? Oo yeah by the way im thinking of selling my white SC400 1992 for $5,000. I just got new shocks for it. and new bushing kit. Only considering it if its too expensive to take to a dealer for an estimate. Does anyone know how expensive it would be?? thanxs
