I had the same problem with the noise when backing up my 95 SC400 (128K to-date). I read all the posts in our forum and thought my problem was related to the bushings or engine mount. Fortunate for me, when I took my car to Davenport Motor here in Plano, they examined my car, tightened all the nuts and bolts, and finally discovered that the culprit was with the loose bolts in my rear brake calipers. After they did that the noise has since disappeared. These guys at Davenport are knowledgable, honest, and good and they saved me the cost of replacing the control arms. I know this may not be the same problem as yours but it would not hurt to check it out. Good luck.

I read your post wrong My problem was simply a "clunk" or a "thud". It happens after I move a few feet away from where I put the car from D to R or from R to D. Replacing LCA bushings did solve my problem.

I had the same problem with my car at about 75K. I installed the Daizen front and rear control arm bushings, and I haven't heard it since. The only downfall is the tendency of urethane bushings to squeak. I squirt some lithium grease on them once a month to keep them quiet.

John you fix that door yet? I had that issue a few months ago and have an extra door clip at home I think. Let me know.
P. Williams, that must be a real pain to have to think about re-greasing those things all the time , that's why I refuse to touch the DST bushes let alone put them on my car.

Door is still broken. Havent had the chance to take the door panel apart and take a look inside yet. How much do you want for the clip? Where are you located?
Thanks,
John
