Here's one for you guys: THUD heard when reversing while turning the steering wheel.
For the past month, Ive noticed a THUD or a CLUNK sound coming from the front end. It happens when I reverse out of my driveway while I turn my steering wheel. I also hear it driving forward at slow speeds while turning the wheel, not as loud or noticable as going in reverse though.

I have the same problem and my mechanic and I both suspect the worn front lca bushings to be causing this. I'll be changing my front lca bushings this thursday and will let you know if that fixes the problem.

I had a problem similar to that after some suspension works. It turned out that the shop where I had my springs changed didn't tighten the bolts to specs so after the Lexus dealer tightened all bolts I never heard that thud noise again when I backup down the garage and turn the wheel.

Hey John, I've been worried about this for a few weeks now as my car makes this type of noise as well, I thought it was the front lca's at first but now suspect it is the motor mounts because of my mileage (180k). I understand we can get all three mounts from Steve Ganz for about $250. As far as installation I have no clue...

TRD are made out of a denser rubber material. They add a better response feel from the clutch and the motor. Basically keeping the engine from twisting and moving resulting in more power to the ground. Bigger improvement in higher HP applications. You will sacrifice some comfort though as you will feel a little more vibration coming from the engine. Not neccessary at all if you are running a stock motor.

you guys can save money on the motor mount brackets if ya guys buy the right supra mounts...
first gen mk4 93-95 mounts are different from 96+ mounts (2nd gen mk4)
the tricky part is I forgot which ones (1st gen or 2nd gen) are a direct bolt on for our cars.
