Will the SUPRA TT calipers clear the 17" wheels on the 2GS ???

Also, not sure if anybody knows the answer to this or not- but does the dust shield need to be cut or bent at all on the Supra TT calipers- when installing on the 2nd-gen GS....(or ONLY with the LS400 calipers?)

Thanks for any help on this...

..Dust shields will need to be cut and removed...OEM 17 inch 2GS wheels do not clear the bigger brakes..You will need either a thick spacer or use another wheel...

On a side note: I didn't realize its been almost 8 years since the first post of this thread....I can't believe its been that long.. I went through 2 other brake setups after this LS4 upgrade...LS4 is still a good upgrade!

Thanks a lot, One HoT! I actually will have to remove the dust shields? (I was just gonna bend them so they don't hit the calipers)

WOW...what other BBK's have you had on your car?

I have had several setups since the LS4 upgrade...

LS4 upgrade is suitable for spirited daily driving and great value for the money...This in combination with SUPRA rear BBK would be a cost effective setup...

Had Stoptech front 13 inch 4 piston BBK..is a step up from the LS4 setup...Good for aggressive street use with various option for pad choices (Pads are based off Porsche 997 I believe)...But cost 7 times as much as LS4 upgrade at retail value...

Right now I upgraded to 14 inch (6pot/4pot) Stoptechs at all four corners....These are kind of overkill for street use but they do look great...Aestically, they put the car a step up from what it was before...On the downside it is not very cost effective. At retail price, it is almost 17 times what the LS400 setup would have cost... I'm pretty sure it DOESN'T have 17 times more stopping power...

Are you talking about on the 2GS or on the SC ? You have both, or do you have an SC?

Dudddeee, that's pretty insane. Those 6-piston StopTechs...LOL! (AND 4-piston in the rear!?) wow.
yeah...the price is pretty insane. I'm sure you have THOUSANDS into your brake set-up by now!

Can you post a pic of the newest brakes you have ? (if that BBK is still on your car, or if you have a pic of them)
I'd LOVE to see that !

There was a pic of a 2GS with the AP Racing kit installed.... looked amazing.

Actually- I saved it- here it is:

I do have a 1SC and I didn't realize you had a 2GS...I believe you need RCAs in order to fit the brakes onto 2GS...I'm not sure if you could reuse the dust shield on your car. Easily way is to gut them out completely...

I'll send you over a PM if you want a picture of my setup. I don't want to go off topic on this thread as it is go off on a tangent already...

Thanks!

Yep. I just ordered the RCA's for up front. (and will get the back ones real soon) I'm excited to install the LS400 calipers/rotors on my '01 GS430 though.

Can I buy Remanufactured '95-'00 LS calipers from Advance Auto? They'd be OEM and remanufactured..? The price is INSANELY cheap! They are only $66 each! Should I just do that... (I need to order them, like TODAY, or asap)

THANKS for your help man- really appreciate it.

And YEAH please send me a PM !

$66 dollars for remanned calipers is a great price...I would also get stainless steel lines and aggressive pads to go with this setup...
