I just finished this mod last week and I'll tell you one thing, these brakes are awesome! I bought everything I needed from Aliga, including calipers, pads, rotors and all of the hardware. You'll get a better deal if you buy them used or rebuilt than buying new. Here is what you'll need (all parts are from 95-00 LS400.

Calipers
Pads w/retainer springs, pins and clips
Rotors

You'll also need to cut off or bend the stock dust shield and use the existing mounting bolts, but you will need washers as the SC bolts are longer than the LS ones. Good luck on your conversion.

If the Supra TT brakes fit then you'll have no problem with the LS brakes. The LS rotors are slightly smaller than the TT rotors and the calipers themselves are about the same size. Check out page 3 of this thread for pics of a completed install. I'll post pics of mine tonight.

Does anyone know if the LS400 brake setup(from Page 1) would fit(clearance) on some Moda R6's. 18x8 fronts.? I want to convert to the set on Page 1, but i'm looking for a rim upgrade first. I'm set on Moda R6's, but wasn't sure about the clearance.

Last time I checked, Moda R6 do not come in high disc setup...

You will need high disc rims as specifically stated throughout this thread...

OEM wheels that come in high disc are:

LS400 95-00
Toyota Supra TT 93-00

If wheels are aftermarket, such as the Modas that you are referring to...I recommend you call the manufactuer whom your purchasing from and ask which specific wheel comes in high disc setup..

As a safely precaution & word of advice:

PURCHASE A SPARE WHEEL FROM A LS400 95-00 OR A SUPRA TT 93-00...

Your current stock spare will not clear big brake kits...Save yourself the hassle, money and costly tow fees...

Just use stock LS400 bolts that comes with the caliper....Forget the SC bolts, they are a hassle to deal with...

Trail and error?

SUPRA BRAKES fits GS (both gen) and the SC (first gen) for sure...

So my guess is that LS brakes should fit for sure also...It's bolted on exactly as the Supra brakes so I can't see the reason for it not to...

Thanks OneHotSC
I can't believe the Moda R6's 18inch rim can't fit the big brake set up or the LS400 set up on page1.
I guess it has to do with inside clearance, not the size of the wheel.
Thanks for letting me know to ask for High Disc Rims, i didn't know they had a name for it.

check to see if you have enough clearance by making sure you have at least 2.75" from the rotor to the inside of your rim.

Most 17" rims will clear the rotors no problem. It is the inside of the wheel where the problem is. You need extra clearance to fit the much wider LS calipers. Remember, there are 2 pistons on EACH side of the caliper. The SC calipers have 2 pistons only on the inside so it's narrower. If your wheels don't fit then you can use a good quality spacer, like H&R. I bought some H&R 5mm spacers just in case my wheels didn't clear (they do). I ended up using them anyways because they bring the wheel a little further out and it looks better that way. It actually makes the car track a little better on the highway too. My recommendation for buying new wheels is to get them from a local place so they can be test fitted on the car. Just bring in a caliper and rotor and temporarily mount them (while keeping the SC caliper still connected but out of the way) and test fit the wheel.

with these Ls 400 calipers in the front, can i still run supra tt for the rear? the supra tt brakes in the rear are dual pistons and the rotor would be slighly larger than my Ls 400 fronts... will i get uneven braking??
i think my stock sc rear caliper is sticking on one side and want to do a complete rear upgrade.

Don't really need SS lines, unless your current lines are defective...It brakes good as it is....IMO

I was thinking of doing the SUPRA rears also...Gives the ride more of a balanced feel...Then again, don't really need it...It's not like my car is running on 500+HP to the wheels anyways...
