i only considered them because i might have rear caliper problems...trust me, the less spent- the better!
at this point i will only change if it's needed!

 

Here's a pic of my LS 400 upgrade. I have to touch up the calipers, put on the stickers and paint the rotors and it'll be finalized. Until then, just great braking power!

 

looks good... how are your hankook ventus tires??

 

Pretty good, actually. I expected the worst from them (cuz they're cheap), but I have to say that for the money they are a very good tire. I thought I'd have to have them roadforce balanced, but they were perfect. Maybe I just got a lucky set, I don't know. I only paid $132 ea mounted and balanced so they are a definite bargain for an 18" hi performance tire.

 

Ventus must have really improved. I bought a set about 10 yrs ago and they stunk. Took them off immediately. They were out of round quite a bit.

Did you get a new LS dust shield?

And what do you mean by bleed the brakes?

The LS dust shield won't fit the SC. I bought a set when I did my LS brake upgrade and found out the hard way. I just bent my shield and reshaped it so the larger rotors fit with it in place. You could buy some Supra TT dust shields and throw them on, but I'd save the money and just cut it off or bend it.

 

i agree, just cut them or get rid of them, not really necessary. just appply some wax on your wheels, and there will be minimum dust.

 

will my blitz type 03 18x9 fit these brakes?? i think its a +42 offset

 

if you have 2.75" from the face of the rotor to the inner spoke of your rim, then the wheels will clear.

 

I wished I read this thread earlier. I have 2" to play with from the rotor to the inner face of the spokes. I guess my rims didn't have a type 2 face. I'm surprised these are fitting for a lot of people. Does this have to do anything with the width of the rim, the offset, or how much of a lip the rim has?

 

I don't think you'll be able to do it with only 2". I measured about 2.5" on my wheels before
installing the brakes and my wheels barely clear. Where are you located in CA?

 

I guess the brake upgrade is out of the question, unless I get new rims. I'm around the pasadena area. I'm going to the meet in West Covina at H ( o Y o ) TERS.

 

I carefully measured how much space I had before I installed the rotors and LS400 calipers.
