Answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ):
The 1995-2000 LS400 4 piston calipers and rotors will fit ALL 1st gen (1992-2000) SC300 & SC400 with a few modifications..
1) You will need to use LS400 caliper bolts or reuse your SC400 or SC300 caliper bolts with a 2-3mm spacer, as they are too long for the LS400 calipers..
2) The heat shield will need to be modified, completely gutted or changed out to LS400 dust shields in order for larger LS400 rotors to fit..Dust shields serve very little purpose, so it is up to your personal preference rather to have a dust shield or not..It is recommended that you gut the shield out completely..
3) You will need wheels that are designed to clear the larger LS400 caliper..for example: Supra twin turbo wheels
4) The instructions for the install is here: (please note: that the installation procedure is the same as the supra brake install. Also disregard the installation of the new dust shield since it is optional.)http://planetsoarer.com/suprabrakesI...akeUpgrade.htm
5) Please be advised that some members have reported certain grinding was needed in order for the calipers to clear..I'm not exactly sure what the procedure for this is, since I have never did a conversion where I had to grind any hardware..
6) Discounted quality rotors and pads can be purchased through our vendor: http://www.tirerack.com
6) Finally, if you are not familiar with brake components and the brake installation procedures then leave it to a professional.
Good luck and happy braking!

yeah....do keep us updated. I would certainly like to know.
After driving quad-piston-huge-brakes-for-the-car's-size RX-7's and sport bikes for so long...my test drive in the SC left me lacking in the brakes area....

Will these be as good? No. Wil it be better? Vastly.
Think about it...these parts can be had much cheaper. If they were as good it wouldn't be the "cost effective alternative"...it would just be the "way."

will it have the same stopping power as the TT brakes? that is the question...
I test drove Gazi's (aliga) SC turbo with the same setup...These brakes were very impressive to say the least...Stops on the dime and very responsive...I don't know how much better the SUPRA BRAKES can be, but for the money LS brakes get my vote...
I was told by Gazi (aliga) that all brake components are STRAIGHT BOLT ON to his SC300......Although the orginial dust shield will not accommodate the bigger LS rotors, you can simply gut it out completely or buy a LS dust shield...
I will write a complete review of these brakes, as well as installation procedures...

mackenzie70, this will be the way to go! this is a new mod, give it time to catch on.
the calipers that onehotsc400 are newer than most scs out there!
onehotsc400: if you do not have the ls400 caliper bolts, you can reuse the sc bolts, but use some metal washers. They are longer than the ls bolts.
