Sounds like the RA would pretty much be a (smooth) track only proposition. RA reminds me of manaray's 'recked ****' comment. LOL

I spoke with Tein Sales about the coilover selection. Here is there response, I thought you guys would like to see it as well.
Morris,
The Type RA is a circuit racing set up, which is equipped with a monotube damper design. This allows for increased fluid travel which will assist in maximizing handling and driving stability. With that having been said, this makes the Type RA a little more pricy to maintain and less durable than the
Type FLEX. Also, all repairs must be sent to TEIN Japan.
As for the Type FLEX, we feel it is the most durable and adjustable set up.
Please note that it is possible to change your spring rates if the current set up does not suit your driving needs. Also, the Type FLEX would be the most appropriate set up for street driving and autocrossing.
As for stiffness, the spring rates are significant higher on the Type RA ( Front 1007 lbs/in vs 559 lbs/in in FLEX) These numbers definitely illustrate the different design intensions. Unfortunately, we do not have any customer reviews, but if you seriously want a solid, race set up, the Type RA will be the appropriate application, for a diverse street set up, the Type FLEX. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions. Thank you.
Best regards,
Sales

So Morris, Tein is saying exactly what we've been saying.

RA is a track suspension so the spring rates are much higher. Also the dampers are bigger piston shaft and valved completely differently. They are still 16 way djustable but offer a full aluminum casing for the damper as opposed to steel on the HA and Flex. Also they come with pillow ball mounts. Very nice suspension but probably not what the average Lexus driver wants. It's a little different market in Japan where we can get the Supra TT motor in our cars and there are many guys pushing over 600 HP. You can order softer springs and change them out but they are priced quite a bit higher so unless aluminum cas is your cup o tea, not worth it.
